Treating the Worn Dentition:

An Interdisciplinary Approach

Please check back for a future date

Pre-Requisites: None

Tuition: $495   Continuing Education Credits: 7

Worn dentition cases present special and unique challenges for the interdisciplinary team. It is imperative to properly diagnose the etiology of wear in order to assess the risk for anticipated dental restorations. In order to treat these cases effectively and predictably, a comprehensive plan must be developed. A thorough review of esthetic parameters and occlusion will give the practitioner the tools necessary to provide successful comprehensive esthetic and functional restorations In addition, the adaptive processes that have resulted from tooth wear need to be understood in order to determine corrective repositioning of the dental and gingival structures. Periodontal and orthodontic procedures to accomplish the corrective repositioning of structures will be reviewed, as well as indications for which procedures to use.

Having a system to approach wear cases eliminates the multiple frustrations surrounding diagnosis, treatment planning and execution of treatment. A Systematic Treatment Evaluation Protocol (STEP™) will be demonstrated that identifies patient esthetic parameters and determines the definitive tooth position for any wear case. You will learn how the STEP™ system provides an accurate and easily understood tool to develop treatment plans and communicate to the patient, thereby increasing patient treatment acceptance. The same system provides clear communication to the members of the interdisciplinary team and the dental laboratory.

Pre-Requisites: None

Tuition: $2195 Deposit: $500 Continuing Education Credits: 16

Is denture fabrication a challenge for you?  Do you feel your implant-assisted and implant-supported prostheses could be better if your denture technique improved?  Come learn denture fabrication from one of the true masters of dentistry, Dr. Walter “Jack” Turbyfill.  His denture technique will empower you to fabricate dentures that are more functional and esthetic than anything you would have ever imagined.  This will allow you to treat not only the edentulous patient, but patients who desire implant-assisted and implant-supported prostheses with the most predictable treatment outcomes possible.

This two-day program will be a combination of lecture and live patient treatment.  The live patient will be treated by Dr. Turbyfill from initial impressions through delivery and next-day follow up of upper and lower complete dentures.  The patient and dentures will be scanned to allow for three-dimensional interactive implant planning in the Procera software (dual scan technique).

The doctors will cover treatment planning the edentulous patient for dental implants and Drs. Wooddell and Passaro will share their “Three Keys to Success” for full-arch implant prosthetics.  Guided, non-guided and partially guided protocols will be reviewed.

This is an outstanding course for any practitioner – surgeon or restorative dentist – wanting to improve their prosthetic outcomes.
