Advanced STEP Skills

Pre-requisites: Hands-On Step Skills or Workshop Series

This is a two-day hands-on small group workshop.

This course will briefly review topics covered in our Hands-On STEP Skills course and will detail the following topics:

• Advanced topics in Occlusion
• How to manage patients with TMD
• Anterior guidance and the envelope of function
• Long centric
• The etiology and treatment of patients with a worn dentition
• The six ways to gain anterior restorative space
• The differential diagnosis of the gummy smile
• Communication skills when presenting patients’ treatment options to help increase treatment acceptance

Cases brought by the course participants will be treatment planned.

Items to bring to the Advanced STEP Skills course:

• Mounted models (learned in Course 1) of a patient, plus the patient’s complete set of diagnostic photographs
• Laptop or Mac with PowerPoint
